MEW


#151 MEW
Mew is a Pokemon that has been favorite of mine.  My daughter recently made a list of Pokemon that she would me to make her.  Mew, along with Mewtwo, was on that list.  This pattern includes the color list for Mew and Shiny Mew.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesis):  Baby Pink (Lt. blue), aqua (delft blue), and white.
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Floral wire (optional)

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With baby pink, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around.  (6)
Rd 4: sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (7)
Rd 5: sc in each sc around.  (7)
Rd 6: sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (8)
Rds 7-8: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Finish off.

BODY:
Rd 1: With baby pink, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (32)
Rds 5-14: sc in each sc around.  (32)
Rd 15: (sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog) around.  (28)

BEGIN STUFFING BODY AT THIS POINT.  CONTINUE STUFFING FIRMLY AS YOU GO.
NOW WORKING IN ROWS.
Rw 22: sc in next 9 sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (9)
Rw 23: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 7 sc.  (8)
Rw 24: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.

HEAD:

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 20, pull tightly and secure.  Sew HEAD to BODY adding any stuffing to neck area of BODY before closing.

EARS (MAKE 4):
Rw 1: With baby pink, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next 2 sc.  (4)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (6)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (8)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (8)
Finish off on first 2 EARS.  DO NOT FINISH OFF ON OTHER 2 EARS.
Rw 6: Working 2 EARS together and working through both thicknesses of sides of EARS, ch 1, sc in side of next 5 rows, 3 sc in EAR point, sc in side of next 5 rows.  (13)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EARS to HEAD.

EYES:
Embroider EYES on MEW.


LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With baby pink, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (9)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rds 4-6: sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 7: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (8)
NOW WORKING IN ROWS.
Rw 8: sc in next 4 sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (4)
Rw 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc.  (4)
Rw 10: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog twice.  (2)
NOW WORKING IN ROUNDS AGAIN.
Rd 11: Ch 1, sc in side of Rws 8-10, slip st in unworked sc of Rd 7, sc in side of Rws 8-10, sc in each sc of Rw 10.  (12)
Rd 12: sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 4 slip sts, sc in next 5 sc.  (12)
BEGIN STUFFING LEGS FIRMLY.  CONTINUE STUFFING UPPER PORTION OF LEGS MODERTAELY SO THAT IT CAN BE FLATTENED.

Rd 14: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (16)
Rds 15-19: sc in each sc around.  (16)
